What "Designed in Alaska" Means

The difference between designed, printed, and manufactured — and why it matters.

"Made in Alaska" is a specific claim. It should mean the garment itself was manufactured here. Very little apparel actually is.

Alaska Worn is designed in Anchorage. Our current garments are produced by manufacturing partners outside Alaska and printed / fulfilled by our print partner in the continental United States. We disclose this on every product page.

When we produce something in Alaska — a locally printed capsule, a screen-printed run with an Anchorage shop, a cut-and-sew piece made in state — we will say so, with the shop's name attached.

That's the standard.
